Vibration analysis of functionally graded microbeams with a moving mass based on Timoshenko beam theory

Abstract Vibration analysis of functionally graded (FG) microbeams carrying a moving mass is carried out in the framework Timoshenko beam theory. The material properties are considered to be thickness by power-law function, and they estimated Mori-Tanaka scheme. influence microsize effect captured with aid modified couple stress theory (MCST). A finite element formulated used establish discretized equation motion for beams. characteristics, including natural frequencies, time histories mid-span deflection, dynamic magnification factor distribution, computed simply supported beam. obtained result reveals that both deflection overestimated ignoring effect. effects velocity length scale parameter studied detail highlighted.
